At www.wcticketexchange.com, we work hard every day to keep our site free of scammers.
Here is our guide to spotting scammers.
They are generally based in Romania but their network stretches across Europe. While the deal starts in Romania, it usually ends up in Italy, where the money is collected.
They will often advertise large numbers of tickets, usually involving England or matches like finals and semi finals. Their aim is to get the most money for their effort so offer the most demanded tickets for sale as these attract the highest price.
If you send a ticket enquiry, you will receive an email quickly. Here is a real example of a reply sent by a scammer. We have highlighted the items to be wary of and deliberately left in all spelling mistakes:

Thank you very much for you intersted in my tickets. For payment, the fastest ways to send money world wide are Western Union wire transfer. As soon as I have verifyed the transaction, the tickets will be shipp to your address via UPS Overnight As soon as i recive all the information about the Western Union that prooves you sent me the money i will give you the tracking # so you can pick up your tickets! Here are my western union payment details: |
Never pay by Western Union The UPS number is issued when the scammer calls UPS for a quote. The tickets are not collected and the number is invalid. Name often bears no resemblance to email. Address often follows this layout. The most he will do is get a number from UPS/FedEx. He will not arrange collection (there is nothing to collect!) Why would he pay for shipping? Because you think you are getting a deal and the tems are never sent out! |
If you suspect anything is wrong, DO NOT DEAL.
